AUTHORSIP OF THE CARTAS CHILENAS Stylistic study, utilizing computer programs Lexico (Centre Hubert de Phalèse - Universidade Paris 3) and Hyperbase (Bases, Corpus, Langage - Universidade de Nice), attempting to establish quantitative and qualitative stylistic elements, to further the discussions regarding the authorship of the Cartas Chilenas. Participant: Jessé Gabriel da Silva TEACHING OF LITERATURE IN THE DIGITAL MEDIUM The creation of a CD-rom for teaching Brazilian literature, for middle and high school, using Machado de Assis’s short story “O Relógio de ouro”. Participant: Jaqueline de Quadros Barbosa STUDIES OF DIGITAL TEXT The applying of literary text theories on the reflection of reading, writing and literary creation in the digital medium, specially those called digital poetic texts.. Participants: Carlos Henrique R. Falci, Cristiano de Sales, Otávio Guimarães Tavares THEMATIC THESAURUS Construction of a thematic search system, associated to the digital literature library. With such a system, we mean to provide the library users the possibility to research the works not only by bibliographical information (titles, authors, publishers, places, dates, etc.), but also by subjects. This requires the creation of a controlled vocabulary, in which the semantic connections between the terms will be established in a manner which the user would not have to restrict his/her thematic search to a small list of closed terms. Fernandes e Rodrigo de Sales FRANZ KAFKA’S STYLE Stylistic study of Kafka’s works, utilizing the computer programs Léxico and Hyperbase, trying to find some writing patterns that would differ from other German writers, his contemporaries. Participant: Verônica Ribas Cúrcio MACHADO DE ASSIS: THE SHORT STORIES STYLE Stylistic studies of Machado de Assis’s works, utilizing the computer programs Léxico and Hyperbase, to establish terms of comparison between the so called romantic and realist phases of the writer. Tarouco de Freitas DIGITALIZATION OF RARE WORKS Digitalization of the Sul magazine, periodical that, in the forties, was responsible for spreading a movement of literary renovation in the state of Santa Catarina; digitalization of the romance Jakaré-Ouassou ou les toupinambas, published in France, in 1830, based on Santa Rita Durão’s epic Caramuru.
