NUPILL - Núcleo de Pesquisas em Informática, Literatura e Lingüística - broadly translated as Center for Research in Informatics, Literature and Linguistics is linked to the Postgraduate Course in Literature and to the Department of Vernacular Language and Literatures, in the Center of Communication and Expression of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.

NUPILL centrally focuses on research development regarding literary texts in the digital medium, embracing a wide range that goes from digital creation to reading utilizing the apparatus and processes of informatics, through strategies and tools of teaching and learning literature.

NUPILL’s vocation is, in sum, to explore the resources that computers, information and communication technologies bring to academic research, both in Literature and Linguistics.

The activities developed here count with the participation of students from undergraduate and postgraduate (masters and doctoral) courses, and also with researcher from other universities. Highlighting that, in these years of experience, NUPILL has maintained a fertile interchange with researchers of diverse countries.

The digital library and literary history data bank projects are within the few in Brazil that consist of a primary and free source of literary texts in their integral versions, on the internet. It contains Brazilian and Portuguese literary works, based and the best editions available. Not only can one consult these works, but also accomplish research with the information about works and authors of Brazilian and Portuguese literature. Currently, the library includes almost five hundred works and the data bank, more than fifty thousand works and around fourteen thousand authors.
